Title: New Business Idea
Post by: aaronarel30 on July 27, 2015, 06:05:56 PM
Hi,

I would like to open a business in Puerto Rico someday.  I haven't moved there yet but just doing some research.  Does anybody know where to start as far as which permits and needed, costs of those permits, etc?  Also any websites I can check out that will give me more info on starting a business out there.  Thank you all, take care!

Hello Aaron,

You would need to at least register your company with the PR government. You can do that online here: https://prcorpfiling.f1hst.com/Default.aspx

You may also need an EIN with the IRS depending on your situation.

There are lawyers and other services here that do just that, help people register the businesses properly. I think the best way is to talk to someone who has a business similar to what you are thinking about and ask them who to talk to and such.
